As of January, the name of the initial beneficiary has changed, which should be taken into account when performing the HU-GO balance top-ups by bank transfer.

As of 1 January 2026, Act LXVII of 2013 on Distance-Based Tolls Payable for the Use of Motorways, Expressways and Main Roads will be amended, as a result of which recreational vehicles with a maximum authorised mass of over 3.5 tonnes will be able to use the toll road network in Hungary under the user charge system from that date.

The toll charge payable in proportion to the distance travelled for the road use by vehicles with a maximum authorised total mass of over 3.5 tonnes will increase in two stages, from 1 January and 1 March next year, by an overall increase less than previously announced.

The applicable laws and regulations have been published, the e-toll rate payable from 2026 has been made official, and the amount of fines for unauthorized road use will change from January. The toll sections will only be extended as of July.
