E-toll price changes from 1 January 2022

Pursuant to Decree 209/2013 (VI. 18.) Korm. of the Government on the implementation of Act LXVII of 2013 on distance-based tolls payable for the use of motorways, expressways and main roads, from 1 January 2022, prices in the e-toll system will change as follows.

As of 28 September 2021, the official international vehicle registration code of the United Kingdom will change from GB to UK. Under the new rules, the number plates will not change, however, vehicles will have to use UK stickers instead of GB stickers.

Changes in the HU-GO e-toll system

Several sections of Act LXVII of 2013 on Distance-Based Tolls Payable for the Use of Motorways, Speedways and Main Roads have been amended. The amendments will enter into force on two different dates.

Contract terminates between ITineris Informatikai Kft. and National Toll Payment Services Plc.

Effective as of 21 June 2021, ITineris Informatikai Kft. has terminated its individual data reporting agreement concluded with National Toll Payment Services Plc. (NTPS Plc.) on 17 June 2013.

Note to carriers: Rules pertaining to the specification of environmental protection categories to tighten in Hungary

As of 1 July 2021, National Toll Payment Services Plc. (NTPS Plc.) will automatically classify goods motor vehicles with a gross weight over 3.5 tonnes, registered in the HU-GO system and with a foreign country code, into the lowest environmental protection category, where carriers cannot provide satisfactory evidence of their vehicle’s environmental protection category.
