E-toll: changes on the toll road network

As of September 1, 2018, the Ministerial Decree regulating the amount of the toll and the toll sections will be amended in several points.

The primary aim of introducing the package amending the HU-GO system applicable to heavy duty vehicles with a maximum gross weight of over 3.5 tonnes is to reflect the recent changes of the Hungarian public road network in the legislation. As new roads, road sections and junctions have been built and opened to the public over the course of 2018, new basic tolled sections had to be introduced, new section boundaries had to be designated and trail modification was also necessary in the toll road network.

The changes affected the following roads:

  • main road No. 3
  • main road No. 4
  • main road No. 5
  • main road No. 8
  • main road No. 14
  • main road No. 15
  • main road No. 21
  • main road No. 36
  • main road No. 40
  • main road No. 41
  • main road No. 45
  • main road No. 472
  • main road No. 47
  • main road No. 53
  • main road No. 62
  • main road No. 77
  • main road No. 85
  • main road No. 86
  • main road No. 445
  • main road No. 471
  • main road No. 813

Based on the above, Annex 1 of Decree 25/2013 (V. 31.) of the Ministry of National Development on the amount of the toll and toll road is amended in 130 places altogether. Accordingly, as of September 1, 2018, the number of basic tolled sections within the distance-based electronic toll system will change from the present 2,449 to 2,462, and its length from 6,864 km to 6,880 km.
